So just what is this thing anyway? "Just a Little High Maintenance" is something different. It's something special. It's an event. It's a party. With a purpose!
With the legalization of recreational marijuana in Connecticut this past July, a new world of possibilities is opening up for weed-enabled leisure in our state. However, very few existing canna-events on the North East attempt to offer much of a holistic experience. At least not yet.
Hosting a canna-friendly event comes with some unique challenges, ranging from venue selection to legality considerations. Many of us have been to other canna-events before but what we are aiming to do is break new ground. We want to offer a glimpse into how different life might be once more people unwind by consuming legal cannabis, instead of drinking alcohol, in public venues among a group of like-minded humans.
We are bringing to you an introspective and unique social event unlike anything you've been to before. We are going to create a comfortable environment in an artsy space where people feel welcome and that they are a part of something intimate among friends, new and old. All for a good cause!
Here's a little more info on what it's all about....
Venue
First and foremost, 15% of the proceeds from this event will go to support Free Center, which is located in the North End of Middletown. The North End has been included in the recent census for equity applicants. As a legal canna-friendly business it's so important to continue to give back to the communities that have been unfairly targeted throughout the War on Drugs.
The goal of Free Center is to act as a vehicle for elevating the intentions and actions of residents. Free Center provides a space for anyone and everyone to gather, share artwork, perform and reflect. It is also designed as a place for members of the community to advocate for those things they believe in. This is a spot for inclusivity, exposure and access. It’s intended as a place where people are free to be themselves.
This dove-tails exceptionally with our intent to reduce the stigma around legal cannabis consumption in a social environment through expression, art, music and food! Your purchase of a ticket is not only paying for a really incredible evening but it's supporting an amazing cause and organization.
